Happy Father’s Day! Dad’s thank you for being there and supporting your wives and children. A little history to give some context to this annual international holiday.
Father’s Day originated in the United States. It was on 19 June, 1910, the first Father’s Day celebration took place. Sonora Dodd, the daughter of American Civil War veteran William Jackson Smart had requested the Spokane Ministerial Alliance observe 5 June which was her father’s birthday, to honor fatherhood.
The third Sunday of June is designated as Father’s Day in most countries. This year it falls on 20 June. The occasion pays tribute to fathers or father figures as they play a vital role in nurturing children.
If your dad is still living and a part of your life, reach out and let him know how much you love him. It’ll be the highlight of his day, I promise. Have a great dad’s and remember, you’re a dad, because of the wife you have. Make this day special for her as well. Now go have fun.
