Chicken prices soar amidst shortages

There’s a chicken shortage and it’s causing the price to soar.
A shortage of worker, chicken feed, and deaths of chickens due to severe weather has created a perfect storm.
Restaurants nationwide are now paying more than double for chicken breasts than they were last year.
Other pieces have chicken have gone up between 20 to 21 percent.
The price increases could be passed on to consumers or cause already struggling restaurants to make some hard decisions.
“It will break our business, it will get us into the negative into the red, possibly even have a shutdown,” said Abo Mused, the owner of Alamo Farms in San Antonio, Texas.
It’s not just restaurants paying more for chicken, Americans are seeing higher prices at the grocery store too.
