Kansas City Chiefs are early favorites over San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LIV
The Kansas City Chiefs have been installed as the early favorites against the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LIV, which will be played on Sunday, Feb. 2 in South Florida.
According to BetMGM, the Chiefs are 1.5-point favorites over the 49ers with a over/under of 52.5 points.
The Chiefs defeated the Tennessee Titans, 35-24, in the AFC championship game to reach the franchise’s first Super Bowl in 50 years. That stretch represents the longest between two Super Bowl appearances for a single team in NFL history. Reigning NFL MVP Patrick Mahomes accounted for four touchdowns in the win, throwing for three scores and running for another.
The 49ers, meanwhile, will be making their seventh Super Bowl appearance in franchise history after dispatching the Green Bay Packers, 37-20, in the NFC championship game. The dominant performance by the 49ers was fueled by running back Raheem Mostert, who rushed for 220 yards and four touchdowns in the win. His yardage total was the second-most in NFL playoff history, behind Eric Dickerson’s 248 for the Los Angeles Rams against the Dallas Cowboys in a 1985 divisional playoff game.
